Hi Pete,
Thank you so much for the 4WD course, it meet all my expectations and much more. I didn't realise there was so much involved and as you said it's all about experience. Now I have learnt the Basics and feel so much more confident I plan on getting out there and build on my experience. Clearly all your years of Training and Travel in the bush shows as the course is so well structured and everything was covered, would recommend to anyone just starting out of even to further their skills. Your experience is amazing as a trainer and 4WD mechanic - I have learnt heaps.

On behalf of the Executive Committee and affiliated clubs of 4WD NSW & ACT I would like to congratulate you most sincerely on being awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the 2010 Queen's Birthday Awards. I take great pleasure in acknowledging that the award is for;
"Service to the community, particularly as a driving instructor and assessor with the Driver Training Unit, Four Wheel Drive NSW and ACT".
I believe that you are the first person in Australia to be conferred an honour of this kind for training in the correct use of four wheel drive vehicles. You are certainly the first member of a club affiliated with 4WD NSW & ACT to be honoured in this way.
I am personally aware of the efforts you have made to develop and maintain high standards of driver training in both the Southern Tablelands Four Wheel Drive Club and the Driver Training Unit (DTU) of 4WD NSW & ACT over many years. I am sure that the Association DTU members are proud to be associated with an instructor and assessor of your calibre.
I also wish to thank the members of both Southern Tablelands Four Wheel Drive Club and Four Wheel Drive NSW & ACT who worked quietly and diligently to achieve this successful nomination. It is strong testimony of your worth to both organisations that such an effort was made.
